As global politics threaten to erode hard-won rights for women & girls, this photographic series turns toward a quieter, deeply personal act: my daughters shaping the world they are growing up in through a secular, home-based education.
Centered on my two daughters & the small circle of friends growing alongside them, the work follows a way of learning that is fluid, relationship-driven, & rooted in autonomy. Their education unfolds beyond conventional systems, shaped through movement, conversation, observation, & the freedom to ask their own questions.
These images hold girlhood as it is lived, not prescribed, guided by curiosity, connection, & critical thought. What emerges is not simply an alternative approach to learning, but a space where their voices carry weight & their perspectives take form.
Through everyday moments of exploration & friendship, the series considers education as a quiet form of resistance, one that allows my daughters, & those beside them, to author their own understanding of the world.
In documenting their lives, the work affirms that representation is not only about visibility, but about the freedom to imagine & inhabit alternative futures.
