As global politics threaten to erode hard-won rights for women & girls, this photographic series turns toward a quietly radical act: mothers reclaiming their children’s education. Centered on the worldschooling of seven girls ages 2 to 11, the project documents a way of learning that is mobile, mother-led, & deeply rooted in autonomy.

In these images, we witness the making of a life outside conventional systems – where girlhood is nurtured through curiosity, connection, & critical thought. Through everyday moments of exploration & learning, the series invites viewers to consider how education itself can be a form of resistance – one that empowers young girls to shape their own perspectives in a world where narrative remains a contested space.

By documenting these girls & their mothers, the work affirms that representation is not only about visibility, but about the freedom to imagine – & live – alternative futures.
